Plate Shoes

Can anyone comment positively or negatively about the New Balance plate shoe currently showing on the Honigs website? I've been using the same plate shoes for 23 years and it is time to trade them in for ones with more protection and more comfort that what my current ones offer.

Many thanks!

I like the current version. They do tend to run a little big.

I've had them (the model 460) for a couple of years now. I love them. Like Bob said, they run a tad big, but I have found that to add to their comfort level, especially because I have to use custom insoles in my shoes.

I plan to l buy another pair when it's time to get new plate shoes.

I don't have the latest, mine are quite old, but still functional, so I have not seen a need to fork out the bucks. But a partner recently commented that if he knew they would be so comfortable he would have gotten them when they came out. He received his as a Christmas present.

Based on the positive things you all had to say about New Balance plate shoes, I bought pair that had been worn only once last season (wrong size) for $80.00 and $8.00 for 2-day priority mail. They arrived yesterday and they fit perfectly. I am ecstatic!!

My thanks to you all for helping me make the right decision. Now, if the snow and freezing temperatures in Maine would only back off, I could get down to work. Today's game in Ellsworth has been cancelled, due to the weather. It was 50° here in March with bare ground, but not so today, or this week.

I have never worn that shoe however, I did wear the low cut shoe for several years and then tried the high cut and found the support and comfort to far exceed the low cut. For another $30 to $40 more, it is certainly worth it at the end of a week after about 10 games.

Just my opinion

My friend bought the latest version and he really liked it. Very comfortable. :)
