Umpire shifting?

In the Mia @ Atl game. What the heck is this? I have never seen it before.

The sabermetrics revolution is upon us, and even our umpires have started shifting | MLB.com

Standard 4-man positioning of U2 with R3 only and less than 2 outs.

If U3 goes out, U2 has to get to third for a play back into the base.

If U1 goes out, U2 has to pick up the batter-runner.

Just guessing but I think he was in normal "nightmare scenario" position and the manager came out and asked Davidson about it. I think Davidson mouths the words that's where he should be with R3. Then they decide to give the SS more room and he moves closer to 3B

Standard CCA mechanic. Whether they've used it there or not in the pros I don't know, but it's exactly where I would be in a 4-man HS or college game.
