What ever happened to Ron Botchan?

I was wondering the same thing...

Referee magazine had a great article about him last year. He was truly amazing for an umpire. Number 110. And his goal was to become the first 70 year old official in the NFL. I believe he reached 65 years old and the NFL has mandatory retirement at that age.

Anybody have any additional information?

I know Ron retired last year. I remember the announcers saying something about his last game in the playoffs last year. I think he officiated in a total of 5 Super Bowls.
