dave30 End of regulation, St. Marys guard dribbled in the lane, threw a pass and then ran out of bounds on the baseline. He then came back in to hit a game tying three pointer. Is it legal?
JetMetFan I had a feeling someone would open up a thread about this. No, it isn't. NCAA 9-4-1 A player who steps out of bounds under his/her own volition and then becomes the first player to touch the ball after returning to the playing court has committed a violation.
JetMetFan The rule is similar in NFHS. The difference is in H.S. the violation is called when the offending player steps out of bounds.
