what kind of shoes are Jim Burr and Steve Welmer wearing?

Looks like there is white on the toe???

I had the same thought. Burr's shoes have a lot of white. Just curious what shoes they are wearing.

Hard to tell. I like a little white, but that looks odd.

Scooby

Ford field looks very empty. Not a lot of fans at the game.

Freddy

Has the NCAA approved wingtips for officals? Or was that the TV lights glaring on patent leather?

There were 25K plus at the game.....I agree though, it looked fairly empty because it seats over 70K and those wide angle shots made it look cavernous. Wonder how good those upper level seats are? We'll see how many folks they stuff in there for the NCAA Championships later in the season...... 😉

Just me, but Burr and Welmer looked like two old retirees mall walking with those shoes. I guess I'm old school, but my first thought was Burr forgot his shoes and hit Walmart on the way to Ford Field.

I noticed the same thing during the Old Spice "Classic" 🙄 in Orlando. It's not as big a venue, obviously, but it looked like the place was empty.

Bottom line, the games make more money from TV revenue than from ticket revenue.

It reminds them which way they are supposed to run.

This will be the best GAME played at Ford Field since it opened.

I'm pretty sure the BEST GAME played their, was the record setting Kentucky game. But that is just my opinion. There was no empty seats for that one..

the thing in Orlando has actually grown a lot since it started 3 (maybe 4) years ago. it's not a huge arena, but it does handle a nice crowd. I think if they keep at it, they will eventually fill it up.

Guess Mr. Adams has noticed also:

"2. Quite a few officials might want to put a pair of solid black officiating shoes on their Christmas lists, as stipulated on page 31 of the 2008-2009 CCA Officiating Manual."

Adam

That's funny.

😀
I chuckled when I saw video of the Lions logo being hosed off the turf after their last game there.

Maybe they can have it back when/if they win a game. 😉

More than probably go to Lions games.
