tomegun I just heard, from the game on TV, that Dick Vitale will be making his return next week...in the UNC/Duke game. Because it has to do with his health I'm not totally raising the BS flag, but I wonder if he could have come back earlier and someone told him to wait until his two favorite teams were playing.
Mark Padgett The first time I ever saw him doing a game on TV, I thought his name was Dick Vitalis. Then the camera panned up to show his head and I knew that had to be wrong. 😀
tomegun Snaqwells wroteWho's Dickie V going to root for? He'll be beside himself. Yes, this is a conflict of interest. He may just get so excited that his head explodes. What would happen, if like John Wooden and UCLA, these two programs actually had as much success as their great players and coaches indicate?
refnrev Dan_ref wroteIf you're going to throw up please turn your head towards Chuck. Thanks. 🤮 _________________________ No, No, No. Hold it in. Wait until you have a coach that has really ticked you off. Then, let it fly right on top of his shoes!😃

truerookie Actually, I missed the old geezer.😉 I just received a PM stating he's being reviewing the rule book.
BktBallRef I wish we could hear the guy. Instead of getting the game on ESPN, we'll have to listen to Packer on Raycom. 🤮 DV is good for the game. I'm glad he's back.

bob jenkins Jurassic Referee wroteI hit the mute button on every game that he's on. He's fingernails on a blackboard. I was just going to comment on the large number of people who apparently have televisions without a volume control. I have it set to almost zero on almost every sports broadcast -- just loud enough to hear the crowd reactions and be able to ignore the talking heads.

Jurassic Referee bob jenkins wrote I have it set to almost zero on almost every sports broadcast -- just loud enough to hear the crowd reactions and be able to ignore the talking heads. And that is exactly how I've watched sports for the last several years also. Good officials let the game come to them. Good sportscasters...if you can find them....do the exact same thing.

One feature I wish TVs had is the opposite of mute. I wish they had a feature to not display any video, but do play the sound.
