This is the really cool story of the day, tho. I didn't know about this until I listened to BBall This Morning on XM channel 175. Not only did Dontrelle Willis go 8 complete innings to beat Pedro Martinez and the Mets last night in a one-run pitcher's duel, but Willis batted seventh in the Marlins' batting order! That's pretty cool. He was 1-4 on the night and is currently batting .250 for the season.

According to Elias Sports Bureau , the last pitcher to bat seventh or higher was Montreal's Steve Renko, who did it on Aug. 26, 1973, and went 2-for-3 against San Diego.
