1) No penalty can be carried over to the next period.
2) The 2nd Half has not started yet, therefore the FTs are attempted at the Basket that Team A's 1st Half Basket. Why would you attempt them at Team A's 2nd Half Basket.
I had this happen to my partner and me in an AAU Girls's Qualifier decades ago. There was less than 10 seconds and we only awarded the 1st 2 of 3 FTs to A1. We were realized our CE while we were in the dressing room. When we came out we explained the situation to both HCs and had A1 attempt the 3rd FT at Team A's 1st Half Basket.
