illegal sub

After the whistle & signal to serve, a illegal sub is noticed in the set. What should the referee do?

Thanks

Since it is study guide and exam season let's make sure we are making an earnest effort to use our books and answer the questions before posing them here on the board :Have a great year everyone

We are a resource to discuss things through. However, your posting history has been to post questions, offer no rule reference to show where you're thinking, and when answered, rarely acknowledge the answers. Certainly you can understand why, based on this, it would appear that we're helping take your rules test for you.

Helping educate in and of itself is never a problem. But you need to offer up your share too, and you don't do that. If you offer up rule references, we'll be glad to talk you through. Until then, I would caution people to answer questions like these.

You will be a much stronger ref if you hit the book 1st. Your answer is clearly in there. It is human nature to just ask someone - which I always tell refs to go look up the answer before and AFTER you ask/discuss with someone.

We are refs, we get it wrong sometimes.
