The pitcher has 20 seconds from receiving the ball or the umpire indicating play ball to deliver the pitch. The penalty for not pitching in that time frame is a ball on the batter.

Uh, no. The pitcher has 10 seconds to release the next pitch after receiving the ball, or after the umpire indicates "play ball." That's ASA 6-3-J. The penalty is that a ball is declared on the batter.

I think you're reading the FP section.

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Ok, is the original post asking about slow pitch or fast pitch, it doesnt say. I assumed fast pitch.

If its fast pitch, it is 20 seconds, if slow pitch then yes, 10 seconds. And in the slow pitch section it does not list a penalty for exceeding the time limit, although I would assume it is consistent with the penalty in fast pitch.

Oops... That's TOTALLY my mistake. I should've read the post more carefully.

RKBUmp is correct. Sorry for any confusion!

Where do you find this thing called ASA slow pitch? Is it a real sport? Either I live in the boonies or it is only played in the boonies.
