Saw this last night. 16-18yr Rec Ball high school rules. Runners on first and third. Batter hits it to deep outfield. Runners are advancing. Ball is being relayed in from outfield. When I look to home plate to see if there might be a play I notice 2 catchers. Not only are the previous base runners giving the up or slide signal but also the catcher from the batting team in full gear including helmet(no he was not the on deck batter). He apparently ran out of the dugout to cheer his teammates. There was no play at the plate and everyone ran back to the dugout. Homeplate umpire didn't notice the extra catcher as he was watching for the play which never happened.

Is there a rule against this or is this just a "don't do that again"?

I can envision lots of arguing if the fielding team had thrown to the wrong catcher but that didn't happen.

R3, 2 out. Batter swings and misses at strike 3, but the pitch gets away from the catcher. R3 crosses the plate before the catcher secures the ball and throws to first base. The throw pulls the first baseman off the bag, but the batter-runner misses first base. The first baseman then says "He missed first base", and tags the batter-runner.
Score the run?

Saw this play on SportsCenter this morning.

The person giving the run down on the play was saying Morgan was called out because Rodriguez had committed interference by an another teammate. It puzzled me at first because as I watching the play, I was thinking why would Morgan be trying to make contact with the catcher in this situation as that would be interference on his part. Then they showed that Morgan had missed the plate.

My question is wouldn't this be interference my Morgan and not interference by Rodriguez?

Doing my first varsity game behind the plate next week. My question is with regards tot he lineup card. What's the best way to keep that card in "order" (per say)? How do you make changes on it? How do you add a subsitution?

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but c'mon I've never been trained on this. I guess everything I else I do is perfect, so they just assumed I knew this! :D

Any tips/suggestions/advice on this will be appreciated!

Saw this in a FED game last night. Slow ground ball to F6. Ball is going right toward R2 who "freezes" until the ball is about to hit him. He side steps and goes to third. F6, who had not been able to see the ball because of R2, boots it and everybody is safe. Defensive coach wants obstruction called on the runner. What do you have?
