9:00 left in 2nd half: Miles inbounding for KU moves his feet, but clearly remains on the throw-in spot. Packer, "There was a walk violation against Miles, not called."

They just said that Mich St in 1979 was the last team to score 100 pts in a Final Four. Didn't UNLV beat Duke 103-73 in the 1990 title game? Where do these guys get their information?

but don't they consider the Final Four just the two semifinals games and the National Championship is considered a different category? I have heard statistics given like that before. It does not make complete since, but that has been used like that before.

Peace

Rut,
I thought about that, but then realized this would be giving these idiots too much credit. I think it is doubtful that they were following your line of thinking.

I agree with you halfway. It is painful to listen to Nantz and Packer. However, I do not see how you feel that way about Raftery... maybe it's me and my Jersey/New York/Big East bias... but I don't think so...

May I also add Jim Nance for his constant call of over-the-back.
On this one, I can't say that he was wrong. It really wasn't clear, even in slow motion replay, that he let go of the rim before the ball touched the rim. Packer, who is so often wrong, may have been right here...at least really close.

And I'm sorry, but "...and Verne Lundquist, team X starts out....MAN2MAN!!!" is worth watching the whole game. It's even better when Syracuse has to start the game on defense, because then "Jim Boeheim's Orangemen start out...*pause*...

While Packer's just a tool on a soapbox, Raftery IMHO supplies honest, fun, and real color commentary to each game.

So in closing, lay off my boy Bill Raftery with the nickel-dimers!!!!!

EXACTLY. I couldn't have said it better. Which is why I am continuing my three year boycott of CBS TV and turning on the radio to listen to Coach Thompson and the Governor... ONIONS!!!

Another stupid remark by packer related to the flickering of the replay big screen bothering the FT shooter. Only way it would do that is if the FT shooter was shooting by looking at a TV that was showing an image of the screen. The only time you get that flickering is (basically) when you are looking at a TV picture of a TV picture...not viewing it directly. Packer obviously was commenting on it from what it appeared like on his monitor without really seeing it.

From my view - the rim was released before the ball was in the basket.

Besides, I'm pretty sure Packer pointed this out while the ball was still in the cylinder.

What an idiot! A 'Cuse player rebounded the ball and laid it in, but Duany tapped the ball after it was released by his teammate but while it was in the cylinder. Obvious offensive BI.

Great call on the charge on Miles! Packer has no clue what a guarded position is.

Good call on the intentional foul as well. THings are getting a little rough and Anthony is getting a little mouthy.

I concur. I just did not think at first that is what was being called. Great call!!!

Peace

Pretty much a bang-bang play....looks like the defender got there JUST in time. Another millisecond and it's block all the way, I think.

Still a bonehead comment by Packer, especially with instant replay slo-mo.

And as I said in the other post, GREAT CENTER CALL.

Great call on the intentional. No hesitation whatsoever.

I hope Kansas comes back, we need a barnburner finish.
