Spot throw in or run the end line?

NC State vs Ga Tech. State hits a 3 to draw within 1 point with a couple of seconds left on clock. Tech player runs end line on throw in, which is kicked ob by State player. On the ensuing throw in, Tech player again runs the endline. I know this is not legal in Fed, but what about NCAA?

would it be because the original throw in never ended because the ball was not legally touched in bounds but was kicked?

you are wrong. i would suggest you reread the rule book on this one. i can give you the answer but you seem so sure when in fact you are 100% wrong.

7.5.7 SITUATION B: Team A scores a field goal. B1 picks up the ball after the
made basket, then proceeds out of bounds to start the throw-in process. B1 runs
along the end line out of bounds while attempting to find an open teammate for
the throw-in. Immediately after B1 releases the throw-in pass, (a) the ball is
kicked by A2 near the end line; (b) the ball is kicked by A2 near the division line;
or (c) the ball is deflected out of bounds across the end line off of A2. RULING:
In (a) and (b), A2 has violated by kicking the ball. In (a), Team B will be awarded
a throw-in and retain the right to run the end line on the ensuing throw-in. In (b),
Team B will put the ball in play at a designated spot nearest the violation, which
is the division line. In (c), A2 legally contacted the ball and subsequently hit it out
of bounds, ending the throw-in. Team B is awarded a designated spot throw-in on
the end line.

I remember there was a thread about this last year when the refs in a regional playoff game 'kicked it' . I think there was a kick then a TO. Bad mistake near the end a close game. Good thing to know because it gets overlooked.

The simplest way to remember this is on a throw-in after a made basket, ANY foul or violation by the defending team that prohibits the throw-in from being completed legally results in the throw-in being back on the end-line, the offensive team retains the right to run.

Take a look at 7-5-7(b). A team retains the right to run the endline only when the foul is a common foul, and only when the foul or violation would have resulted in a throw-in along the endline. Thus, if the thrower heaves the ball toward the division line and a defender kicks it there, the right to run the endline is lost, because the ensuing throw-in would not be on the endline. Similarly, if the foul by the defense is ruled to be flagrant or intentional, the right to run on the ensuing throw-in (after the free throws) will be lost.
