A1 to A2 OOB after B made basket

I officiated with an experienced official last night - asked a ? but came away somewhat confused...

After an opponents basket, can A1 on the baseline inbounding the ball pass it to A2 who is on the same baseline OOB - as long as they inbound it within 5?

Yes. I don't have the actual citation or casebook reference since I am at work but someone will post it. But this is perfectly legal.

If you do a search on the forum you will find several instances where this has been discussed in the past

7-5-7 . . . After a goal or awarded goal as in 7-4-3, the team not credited with the score shall make the throw-in from the end of the court where the goal was made and from any point outside the end line. A team retains this privilege if the scoring team commits a violation or common foul (before the throw-in ends and before the bonus is in effect) and the ensuing throw-in spot would have been on the end line. Any player of the team may make a direct throw-in or he/she may pass the ball along the end line to a teammate(s) outside the boundaryline.

Yes. The covering official should be aware of these situations and not be in a position where A2 (or any other A player) will be hindered by the official's floor position.
