Cotton Belt Classic Umpire Clinic

The clinic running this spring will be geared towards HS guys trying to get better. The Clinic in the fall will have a few College Assignors coming to Evaluate and hire new umpires. There will be a AA Umpire and SEC umpire along with a few other College Umpires.

There is also a Facebook page as well... Any questions please ask.

What does this have to do with trains?

Very topically dry joke.

They used to be part of Southern Pacific RR, and I guess they all became Union Pacific.

I grew up in a little town with a big switch yard, and have known quite a few RR's over the years.

For years, I slept more contently hearing a freight track rolling down those tracks with the whistle blowing. You don't hear that clinkity-clack anymore since they've all put in ribbon rail.

Before being assimiliated by the Borg, SP was sold to Denver and Rio Grande Western as a result of directed divestiture as a consequence of the failed merger with Santa Fe. D&RGW chose to retain the SP name instead of its own.

Seems I recall that. Now Santa Fe has merged with Burlington Northern, and I believe they use both names. The only engines I ever notice nowadays are Union Pacific and Santa Fe. About the only cars I see are flat beds with piggy backs trailers, and car parts coming in from Mexico. Then see some cars loaded facing up in the car loaders.

I still see some freight cars. I've always loved to look at all the art from the taggers.
